My Week in Pictures

Woke up to this Sunday morning - Thank you to the guys who fixed my table Saturday night! We finally have a dining room table to eat at!

My friend won't quit calling my cat a princess... As if she's not spoiled enough already!

Coco finally came out for longer than a few minutes and found a new hiding spot inside the TV stand! I told you she's rotten.

I take way too many pictures of my cat but she's adorable so it's ok. Right?

These boots are my newest obsession but they're $170... worth it? I think I need them!

I drove uptown to hang out with my friend from school.  I miss the lights uptown but I don't miss walking around uptown at night.

There is a Stella & Dot sale going on all weekend.  20% off everything on my website through Monday. (Shameful self-promotion... Sorry!)

Have a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend!

About Me: 25 Things You Probably Don't Know

So I was reading my About Me section recently and realized it doesn't really tell you much about me.  I considered just re-writing the whole section but honestly, who wants to read that everytime they come to my page? I wouldn't so I'm writing it here starting with 25 things that you probably don't know about me. Ready, Set, Go!

1. I'm a fashion major who lives in the same outfits 90% of the time.  Mostly because
2. I'm a broke college student.
3. I shop way more than my paycheck allows (hence the broke part) so I should have tons of clothes right?
4. I made a blog called 100 Days of Outfits to try to fix my outfit repeating problem and wear the clothes in my closet that still have tags attached.
5. I'm not super prompt or scheduled about my blog posts but I'm going to try to fix that.
6. I have a caffeine problem.
7. I recently moved from Pittsburgh to Charlotte to finish my senior year of college.
8. My cat moved with me and she's not nearly as excited as I am.
9. I have a love for home decor and organization.
10. I can be pretty crafty if I'm given the right inspiration (Pinterest = LOVE)
11. I (technically) work 3 jobs.  I'm a Stella & Dot Stylist, I sell mark. by Avon, and I work at Banana Republic Factory Store.
12. I'm super frugal when it comes to most things but I buy basically whatever I can afford.
13. Target and Hobby Lobby are my favorite stores of all time.
14.My iPhone never leaves my side.  Except to shower but even then it's still somewhere close by.
15. I have a super long list of DIY projects I want to do but I rarely have the motivation to do them.
16. I recently started working out on a daily basis.  I love it.
17. I love the feeling you get from working out when you're muscles ache the next day.  It makes me feel accomplished. Is that weird?
18. I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to just about everything but I won't turn down a dare.
19. I use more social media than any one person needs in a day (Pinterest, Bloglovin, Blogger, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram).
20. I love getting mail.  I don't know why I just really enjoy opening my mailbox and having something in there.
21. I'm not a huge fan of cleaning (mopping, etc.) but who is?
22. This list was a little bit harder to make than I thought.
23. I hate sleeping alone (which doesn't make sense considering I rarely date guys who live close to me...)
24. I procrastinate way too often.
25. I'm graduating in 9 months and have absolutely no idea what I want to do after college.

I would love to see other people write something along these lines.  I'll totally read it! And you have my mad appreciation if you just read this entire bit of rambling!

Have a good Tuesday!

Coco Hates it Here

Now, it's no secret that I have a bit of an obsession with my cat.  She's like a child. She's spoiled and she's a brat.  But, she hates this apartment. I don't know if its the amount of people coming in and out or if its the weird noises the appliances make, but she hides under (more like behind) my bed all day and only comes out at night or when I'm not home.

It took her a little over a week to get even semi- comfortable at my cousin's house so I'm obviously going to give her some more time to get adjusted.  Plus, she's a Torti (apparently they have huge attitudes...) so she's a bit more emotional and cranky than a typical cat.

Any tips for making her more comfortable here would be greatly appreciated! (Yes I know I sound like a cat lady... I'm used to it.)

New Apartment : Work in Progress

Yepp I'm FINALLY moved into my new apartment and I LOVE it!  It took all day to move all my stuff from the storage unit into the apartment but thanks to some super awesome friends we got everything into my apartment in one piece.  I've been trying to unpack all day but unpacking gets boring after awhile.

So, as of right now, I have 4 containers left to unpack which are sitting on the floor in my living room.  My roommate moves in on Sunday so I'm guessing it would be nice if I had them out of the way by then but my muscles hurt so I'm using that as an excuse to lay in my bed for most of the evening.

I'm pretty proud of how my apartment turned out (I didn't pay for any of my furniture except my mattress) so I'll get some pictures up as I finish rooms!  BUT the one thing I do have done is my pallet bed!  I'm obsessed with it! It could probably use a headboard but I think I like it how it is.

Opinions? What should I put on the big empty wall behind it?

Have a good weekend! (and for those of you starting school soon, Good luck!)

UPDATE: I've created a new blog called 100 Days of Outfits.  It's my attempt to document my outfits for 100 days in order to force myself not to wear the same clothing all the time.  It should be interesting so you should definitely check it out!

So I Made a Twitter...

Like I needed one more social media site right? Soooo, now I just need to figure out how to use it.

Follow me! I'll follow you back if I can figure out how.

In other news, my cat and I are staying with my cousins until we can move into our apartment on Thursday.  Coco is not having the fact that their 3 year old is obsessed with her though.  She sleeps under the comforter on my bed all day until I come in and then she comes out for a few hours, eats, uses her litter, and drinks some water, then goes right back under the comforter.  I feel kind of bad because she's finally getting used to this house and then I'm going to move her again in a few days.

Has anyone else ever moved with cats before? Any tips, tricks, or helpful hints? They're greatly appreciated!

An 8 Hour Drive, 1 Cranky Cat, and 2 Apartments Later...

So I was supposed to be moving into my new apartment today... We loaded up a uHaul and drove from PA to NC (8 hours).  We got to the apartment and it was nothing like the one we were shown.  It was horrible and not safe in the lease so, after talking to my roommate, my mom got us both our money back and we found a new apartment which is nicer and in a way better part of town.

Only problem? I have a cranky cat on my hands in hotel where we aren't even supposed to have a cat.  She's scared and has been in her carrier for most of the day.  I feel terrible.

Now, we will be sleeping at my cousins house for the next week or so until I can move into my apartment.  This is gonna be an adventure!

Pink and Ribbon and Tulle... Oh my!

So a friend of my (ex)boyfriend's asked me to make an outfit for her 1 year old niece for her birthday.  I've been working on it for almost 2 weeks now and I've finally got most of it done!  Felt like I should share because I'm pretty excited about everything! I've never done anything like this that someone was actually willing to pay me for  (TONS of pressure) but I'm pretty content with how they turned out.

There will be a shirt by the end of tonight/tomorrow! I'll update once I get it finished! So excited!

Do you have any amazing crafts you've been working on lately? I'd love to see them!

College Checklist

I wanted to do this post earlier in the Summer but it took me longer than expected to get everything put together!  College checklists are easy to find but not all of them are helpful when preparing to move away to college for the first time. ( A lot of them include stuff you really don't need which is just a waste of money.) So, I decided to make a printable to make moving to college easy and much cheaper.

This list doesn't necessarily help if you're moving into an apartment (Maybe I'll make that later) but it is extremely helpful if you are moving to a dorm for the first time.

Is there anything I missed?  What do you absolutely have to take to college with you?

Happy Packing!

*UPDATE: I finally figured out how to put the followers gadget on my blog!!!! I'm beyond excited about it! :)

Blog Break

I finally got this all pretty and got super into posting and then the week from Hell happened.  So, I need a break from the blog for awhile unless everyone wants to read posts about how horribly upset I am that my boyfriend of 9 months decided we should take a break so he can focus on school. I'm not bitter... I'm just upset.  This isn't what either of us wanted but I understand why he needs this.

So, I'm taking a break from the blog so I don't bore you all with rants and feel-sorry-for-myself posts.

I'll be back before you know it.

Reusable Swiffer Pads & Stickygrams

If you own a Swiffer you're probably in love with it (especially if you hate vacuuming like I do) but the dust pads for them are far too expensive for someone on  budget.  So, I've started making my own Swiffer pads out of fleece.  Fleece is relatively cheap and it comes in super fun colors AND it washes well.  PLUS it's static-y (is that a word?) so it picks up dirt and hair from hard surfaces.

This is a no sew project.  Literally, just cut and use.  Now you could serge around the edges if you'd like but I don't really see the point since It's just used for cleaning.

I had this fabric laying around so the total cost of this project = FREE!

Something that was not- so- free? These Stickygram magnets that I had made from my instagram photos.  You get to pick 9 photos and they print them on magnets which are shipped to you for free! (I'm not being paid to tell you this I'm just incredibly excited about mine!)

And then, of course, I instragrammed a picture of them because seriously they're just too cute (and I have an addiction.)

Happy Friday! Hope everyone enjoys their weekend's!

Stella & Dot and My Olympics Obsession

So today was one of those boring, no fun, nothing exciting kind of days until I got home and realized my first package of Stella & Dot jewelry came in the mail! Seriously, this stuff comes in the cutest packing!

Then, when you dig a little deeper, even more cute packaging!!! ( I can't get over the cuteness factor!)

Now here's the shameless self promotion.... I got all of this jewelry (plus one more necklace that isn't pictured) for becoming a Stella & Dot Stylist! You can earn free jewelry too if you host a trunk show or sign up as a stylist yourself! Talk to me if you're interested in either!

OLYMPICS OBSESSION

I've pretty much avoided watching the Olympics this entire time because I just don't enjoy watching sports on television.... Until last night.  Last night I discovered how amazing it is to root for your country to win (and how hot some of the synchronized divers were).   The Fab Five Gymnastics team is amazing as well and I WISH I could do routines on the bar as well as they can!

So, it's safe to say I'm officially addicted to the Olympics and my new obsession with Stella & Dot jewelry and accessories is not going to be cheap... (I already have my eye on this iPhone case!)

Babysitting Adventures: Indoor Bowling (& A Link-Up)

If anyone has ever babysat boys under the age of 10, you know they can be a handful.  This is my last week babysitting the boys I've been watching since I was 14 (I'm 20.) so I wanted to make these last few days super memorable and fun!

They've been bugging me to go bowling all summer but on a college student budget I just couldn't make it happen. So, today we made our own indoor bowling set with water bottles, food coloring, glitter, and a ball.

First, I peeled off the labels on the water bottles and dumped out some of the water.

Then, I added food coloring and glitter to make them more fun! ( You can also add glowsticks for nighttime fun!)

Just shake and you have a game that will entertain kids for HOURS! Plus, they loved mixing the food coloring to make the different colors!

Also, I discovered a Link- Up party called Wonderful Wednesday.  This seems like an amazing way to network with other bloggers and check out some new blogs you wouldn't see otherwise!

* UPDATE: After looking at all of the wonderful blogs that are part of the Wonderful Wednesday Link Party I realized just how terribly boring mine is... Now I just need to learn how to make it pretty and we'll be set!
