Fashion Forecasting (aka arts & crafts time)

So as a fashion merchandising major we're required to take a fashion forecasting course.  Basically, the point of the course is to predict future trends and figure out how to implement them for a specific target market.

In other words, we spent a whole lot of time cutting pictures out of magazines and gluing them to poster board.  I'm super proud of these boards so I decided to put them on here.

The first one is a consumer style board.  The goal was to put together a board based on a consumer which we interviewed outside of class.  We included lifestyle pictures, textiles, colors, fashion, home decor, and celebrity inspiration.  This information was then translated to our style board ( below).

The style board also served as an organizational tool for color schemes as well.

We pulled the textiles from the style board to create a textile board ( also organized based on color scheme).

Finally, we pulled the colors from these textiles to create a color board with Pantone colors and numbers.
All of the boards were centered around Spring 2013 trends.  See any that actually came true?
