Happiness in a Cup

So everyone has something they turn to when they're in a bad mood or upset about something or just need a little pick-me-up.  I call it a "happy-maker" (makes me happy... get it? Creative right?) Starbucks is my happy-maker.

So today, I was bored and lonely and in desperate need of a happy-maker to fix my mood.  Luckily, Starbucks officially has their Pumpkin Spice Latte back.  Seriously, it's like a little piece of Heaven in a cup.  I once told my roommate that I needed it in a continuous IV so I never had to do without it. (She told me that meant I'd never be able to taste it though which created a problem... She's smart.)

So needless to say, my Pumpkin Spice Latte (mixed with the fact that Toy Story is on TV right now) has vastly improved my mood.

Catlady SideNote: I know I write about my cat way more than necessary so I'm going to start labeling it so people don't have to read about her everyday.  Her right eye has been watering way more than usually lately (almost like she's crying) but it doesn't seem to be bothering her (She's not itching it or anything).  Anybody with cats know what the cause could be? Or better yet, how to make it stop?

Hope everyone's having a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Coco Hates it Here

Now, it's no secret that I have a bit of an obsession with my cat.  She's like a child. She's spoiled and she's a brat.  But, she hates this apartment. I don't know if its the amount of people coming in and out or if its the weird noises the appliances make, but she hides under (more like behind) my bed all day and only comes out at night or when I'm not home.

It took her a little over a week to get even semi- comfortable at my cousin's house so I'm obviously going to give her some more time to get adjusted.  Plus, she's a Torti (apparently they have huge attitudes...) so she's a bit more emotional and cranky than a typical cat.

Any tips for making her more comfortable here would be greatly appreciated! (Yes I know I sound like a cat lady... I'm used to it.)

So I Made a Twitter...

Like I needed one more social media site right? Soooo, now I just need to figure out how to use it.

Follow me! I'll follow you back if I can figure out how.

In other news, my cat and I are staying with my cousins until we can move into our apartment on Thursday.  Coco is not having the fact that their 3 year old is obsessed with her though.  She sleeps under the comforter on my bed all day until I come in and then she comes out for a few hours, eats, uses her litter, and drinks some water, then goes right back under the comforter.  I feel kind of bad because she's finally getting used to this house and then I'm going to move her again in a few days.

Has anyone else ever moved with cats before? Any tips, tricks, or helpful hints? They're greatly appreciated!

An 8 Hour Drive, 1 Cranky Cat, and 2 Apartments Later...

So I was supposed to be moving into my new apartment today... We loaded up a uHaul and drove from PA to NC (8 hours).  We got to the apartment and it was nothing like the one we were shown.  It was horrible and not safe in the lease so, after talking to my roommate, my mom got us both our money back and we found a new apartment which is nicer and in a way better part of town.

Only problem? I have a cranky cat on my hands in hotel where we aren't even supposed to have a cat.  She's scared and has been in her carrier for most of the day.  I feel terrible.

Now, we will be sleeping at my cousins house for the next week or so until I can move into my apartment.  This is gonna be an adventure!
